Hi, I’m Kayla.

A movement teacher, somatic coach, and self-discovery strategist. I created JoyCore as the space I always needed: a place to move your body, connect with your inner world, and strengthen self-trust so you can live with presence, courage, and joy.

Growing up as a dancer, I had a rich exploration into my impulses, creativity, and expression. These pillars are still at the core of my work as a teacher and guide. But the industry also taught me to constantly seek approval outside myself. I became preoccupied with getting it “right” and being “good enough” to be seen. Over time, that pressure grew into perfectionism and people-pleasing tendencies that showed up everywhere- in my career, relationships, body, and overall well-being.

My path to unraveling those beliefs first led me to Pilates and yoga, where I found the power of discipline, alignment, and physical presence. But after years of focusing only on the body, I felt the pull to go deeper. I wanted to understand not just how we move, but why we move the way we do, and how our inner world shapes our outer experience. That curiosity inspired me to train as a certified mind-body coach and somatic practitioner with The Embody Lab, expanding my work into the realms of nervous system regulation and somatic parts work.

Now I weave together mindful movement, somatic inquiry, and archetypal study to guide others back to their own knowing. These tools illuminate what’s already within, helping people build a strong self-concept, navigate discomfort with curiosity, and live from a place of truth. What I’ve learned is that strengthening self-trust leads not only to a more confident relationship with your physical body, but also to deeper and richer connections with others.

Once a chronic seeker and timid sharer, I’ve grown into a bold leader and curious guide who knows that everything I need is already here.

Today, my mission is to help you discover the same: that the treasure you’ve been searching for is you.
